Maria Sharapova advances in Rome

ROME, Italy. (EFE). - Maria Sharapova, second racket of the world, today suffered its debut at the Rome International tennis to get rid of American Christina McHale (36) by a double 7-5.
The coaster, which reaches the Foro Italico in the Italian capital to defend the title of champion, needed, however, two hours and 12 minutes to certify your pass to the next round.
With today, Sharapova added the second victory of his career against McHale, with which it had been measured previously in 2009.
Russian tennis tournament came to Rome, after a tough defeat embedded in Madrid to Serena Williams, WTA ranking No. 9, 6-1, 6-3 in quarterfinals.
Sharapova might have the chance to avenge that defeat in Rome but only in an eventual end as they go by different sides of the box.
